Why would you use Essential Oils at Easter?

Easter is around the corner, and while not everyone is a follower of Jesus Christ, everyone does believe in a new beginning.  And while some may celebrate the resurrection of Christ, all will celebrate new life and Springtime!

Flowers will start to bloom, trees will start to bud, birds and bees will be in the air.  Easter and Springtime are both a time for reflection of ourselves and our loved ones.  Part of that reflection is our gratitude for the blessings we have been given.
Essential Oils have date back centuries, in fact, it even dates back to biblical times.  Here are some oils that were used in biblical times, and are still quite popular today.
Why not give one a try?

Myrrh has a musky or woodsy scent with a floral note to it. A great oil for chapped or cracked skin.  Also promotes emotional well being and balance

"...with myrrh and aloes [aloeswood] and all the finest spices."
   -
Song of Songs 4:14

Frankincense is well known for skin care.  Frankincense is also very well known for its spiritual properties, making it ideal for meditation, yoga or prayer.  Great for its calming properties as well.

"Who is this coming up from the desert like a column of smoke, perfumed with myrrh and frankincense made from all the spices of the merchant?"
  - Song of Songs 3:6

Hyssop has a flowery and sweet warm scent. This oil is excellent for treating respiratory infections such as bronchitis or asthma.  Its invigorating nature will help to open the lungs.  Also well known for balancing blood pressure.

"Cleanse me with hyssop, and I will be clean; wash me, and I will be whiter than snow."
   - Psalm 5:7

Cedarwood is known for treating such ailments as arthritis, kidney disorders and bronchitis, as well as being used for stress relief.

"To purify the house his is to take two birds and some cedarwood, scarlet yarn and hyssop..."
   - Leviticus 14:49

So to answer my question - why would you use essential oils at Easter?  Basically, these oils were used in biblical times, and using these essential oils during prayer or meditation, may bring you closer to your religion and/or spirituality, especially during a holy holiday such as Easter.

Diffusing these oils or using them topically with a carrier oil works best.  Do not ingest.  Adult supervision required when using with children. Always seek medical advice if you are unsure on how to use these oils.

We wish everyone a blessed Easter full of love, life, health and happiness.
