Neck Pain? Our Top 4 Essential Oils for Relief

Today I woke up with the dreaded stiff neck causing me tons of pain, not to mention the fact that I cannot turn to my right side. Sigh.

It inspired me to write a blog on neck pain and the need help others who also woke up with the same ailment. I feel your pain …. and soon to be “relief”.

Maybe you slept wrong (yes!), are going through a stressful time in your life, or maybe just have pad posture, when neck pain hits, it effects every part of you including your range of motion (ergo ... my not being able to turn to the right side).

We are fortunate to be able to draw on nature and the pure essential oils that come from it. These essential oils will provide relief, reduce the spasms, and loosen up your muscles.

Peppermint:

* Decreases pain

* Reduces muscle spasms

* Reduces inflammation

* Reduces headache pain

Marjoram:

* Promotes relaxation

Basil:

* Reduces muscle spasm

You are welcome to use these oils individually, but here are some great blends to consider as well.

It is always important to dilute pure essential oils with a carrier oil is your using them topically. I normally recommend that my clients follow the 2% dilution rule, which is 12 drops of essential oil to each 30 ml of a carrier oil.  I like to use Grape Seed Oil as a carrier oil, but you can also use others such as Jojoba or Argan Oil. You can also double up the above recipes if it is easier for you in terms of diluting.  Just keep the oil in a dark amber glass bottle.
